Pelicans

Pelicans are large water birds belonging to the family Pelecanidae. They are characterized by their long bodies, large hooked bills, and distinctive throat pouches, which they use to catch fish and other prey. Pelicans are typically found near coastlines, lakes, and rivers where they hunt for food, primarily by diving or using their bills to scoop up fish while swimming. There are several species of pelicans, including the Brown Pelican, American White Pelican, and Great White Pelican, each adapted to different habitats. Pelicans are known for their impressive wingspans and often have a graceful, soaring flight. They are social birds, often seen in groups, and they communicate with a range of vocalizations.
