J-League

The J-League, officially known as the J. League, is the premier professional football (soccer) league in Japan. Founded in 1992, it is now composed of multiple tiers, with the top tier being J1 League. The league features clubs from across Japan and operates on a promotion and relegation system with the J2 League (the second tier) and lower divisions. The J-League is recognized for advancing the quality of football in Japan and enhancing the country’s presence in the sport globally. It includes a regular season followed by playoffs and culminates in various national competitions, such as the Emperor’s Cup and the J.League Cup. The league has contributed to the development of Japanese football talent and has hosted numerous international players and coaches.
